Arundhati Roy: Aspiring to be the Goddess of Big Things

The author of the 1997 Booker Prize winning book The God of Small Things is now aspiring to be the Goddess of Big Things. While delivering a lecture, ‘The War on People’ organised by the Committee for Protection of Democratic Rights in Mumbai, she is reported to have claimed that “It ought to be an armed movement. Gandhian way of opposition needs an audience, which is absent here. People have debated long before choosing this form of struggle.” The lady, on her part, has countered that the Indian government is indulging in media based psychological operations against her!
